Peterson, Assistant Harbourmaster at Napier, died- suddenly at his residence on Tuesday evening. Ho leaves a widow and six children. Mr. William George Luke, a resident of Wellington for many years, died at his homo in Mortimer Terrace on Thursday. The lato Mr. Luke, nhn was 54 years of age, was a n»tiyo of. Cornwall, and was weir known in connection with local iron foundries. He was a- cousin of Messrs. C. M. and. J. P. Luke, and brother of Mr. Samuel Luke, of Epuhi Street. Ho lias left a widow and a daughter. "It is with deep regret that wo have to record the death of Mr. F. De Rose, of tho Electric Lighting Department,' as tho result of sickness whilst on activo service," states the annual report of the Municipal Officers' Association. "Although Mr. Do Rose was not a member of the association, he was well known to a largo number of our members, and tho sympathy of tho assoeia; tion is extended to his relatives." The association has also lost through death Messrs. llobieson (of tho City Treasurer's Department), H. Roberts (of the Electric Lighting Department), J. M'Pherson (of the City Forestry Department), arid R. M. Wheeler (of the City Rolls Department).
