t NEW ZEALAND ENGINEER'S PEU VATE OPINION OF THE STUDEbaker. Tue *?oui-iat Motor Co.; Hastings, knoirtng that, we are closely interested in 1 ' Studebaker motors, have forwarded to ua a copy tii a lengthy business letter sent them by Mr. Allan 11. M'Lean, the on. eineer of their firm, who is at present in Detroit, investigating the claims of ; the 1916 models of tho great American' auto, mobile manufacturers. The Tourist Men tor Co. have ven- ' courteously given us • • permission to publish extracts from the letter, and we cxtract the following paragraph as likely to interest owners and prospective oyners-of Studebaker cars:My honest opinion about the Studebaker tor is that it is tho best value for, money on tlie American market; and ns far as finiiSi and workmanship are concerned it is second to none. ; I consider that vre would be foolish to take up the; agency for any higher priced car that is built here because if we ropaint the StudeDaker and equip.it with wiro wheels if would be equal to the Minerva in appeartine® ond quietness of running, en« cino is tho cleanest designed one that 1/ . havo inspected." It may bo explained that Mr. M'Lcau's mission to America wiis to secure the agency of a high-priced American car to take the place of the firm's Silent Knight Minerva agency. ( There is a good market in tlawkes Bay. for the very best car obtainable, regardless of price. Mr.' M'Lean s honest opinion regarding the Studebaker is that there is no American car oil tlio market better than tho Studebaker at any price.
