ALL SAINTS', OTAKI

Thp annual meeting of parishioners of All.Saints'.Church, Otaki, was held on Thursday evening,, the Key. G. T. l'otrie,Al.A., Vicar, presiding. Tho various organisations connected with tho church were all reported to be flourishing. The year had been a redbetter ono bccause of two out-standing events that had taken place—the dedir cation of tho - church and the . orection of. a vicarage."- r : Tho Vicar, in iliis report, congratulated the parishioners on what they bad accomplished. During the; year there had been a vory mariod improvement in the number of communions made in All Saints', tho figures having gone up from 1056 to 1418; the Sunday School .had improved; and many valuable fur? nishings had been added-to 1 the church.

Tho- churchwarden's: report showed that tho general offertories had increased from £111 to £134, while special offertories had reached the splendid total of !£GI, against last, year's £28. Tlici credit balance to March ,81 was £54 15s. 4c1., and of this''amount £35 had hcen- transferred to the vif-arage account, leaving' a. balanco to tl>o general church fund of £19 las.' 4<l. The total expenses in' connection with the vicarago had been £1121 • 12s. 6fl. During the year, for reduction . and mortgage, payment of interest, ; etc., £180 had been received;, made up as follows: Ladies' Guild, £109; 6.C.1 1 '.; £35; Manakau district, £20; To Horo, £16. Tlio total liability,' on tho vicarage now stands at £516 12s. 6d.

A letter from Mr. D. M. " Yeats, or•ganiser ;to tlie Maori Mission, was read, and as a result a'branch of the Schvyn Guild was formed, with Miss Blakiston as .secretary and'treasurer. The Vicar also intimated that ho had been .appeal-, ed to by All Wong, Chinese Missioner, to start Sunday School classes for the Chinese, of whom there were 71 in the district, and'ho asked the "parishionors to assist him in the important work. Votes of thanks were acc'ordcd to tho various church workers, and the Vicar thanked the people for their generous Eastor offering. - Officers woro elccted as follows:— Vicar's warden, Mr. R. Booth; people's wardgn, Mr. L. St. • George; vestrymen. Messrs. W. Best, C. H. Williams, W. H. Simcox, C. V. Swabey, W. M. Simcox, J. Bills,, W. Cook, S. Norgrove, W. P. A. Kershaw, Hev. G. 0. Blathwayt,; auditor, C. L. Hartmnnn; central parochial vestry, Messrs. Booth, Best, and St. George.
