HUTT RIVER BOARD
Tiiero wore present last evening, at the monthly meeting of the Hutt lUver , Board, Mr. 11. Baldwin (chairman),; and Jlessrs. Kennedy, Bowers, and Knight, j The overseer's report stated that an extra groyne had ' been erected at Mabey's, 117 ft. in length, at a cost of £40 10s., and the old groyne rebuilt a length of 801't., at a- cost of £29 18s. Tho river ,'lmd been in Hood on April 4, 4ft., and on April 17 3ft., but no damago was done. The new groynes at Ilayward's and Calcanai's showed signs of doing good work. After consulting the chairman' (tho report added), the overseer had made certain alterations to a groyne, to out off the river from Mason's Gardens. • Tho report was adopted, and accounts amounting to £115 wen passod for payment.
