The mobilisation of the 16th Reinforcements- is still in progress. Some of the Canterbury men went into camp yesterday ' morning; the Aucklanders are due to-day, and so are tho balance of Canterbury's quota; and tho Otago contingent are to come up to-morrow. The position in tho Wellington military district, regarding the mobilisation was stated yesterday to bo:— City and Suburbs group'...... 96' short Mahawatu' and Wangami'i ... 35 short Hawke's Bay and Poverty Bay 59 short Wairarapa 34 short Taranalu 13 over Not shortage ...' 211 These figures include some shortages carried forward from previous mobilisations.
