Ryan (Premier of Queensland) described the extension of State enterprises, and said ho hoped later to see tho Australian State ownership of shipping. The prompt commandeering of the entiro British shipping would have prevented the scandalously high freights. He believed' Queensland had the" British investors' confidence, and they would provide the money needed to build the Queensland railways ahead of settlement. Mr. Ryan is to interview Mr. Bonn' Law, and will visit Scotland and France.
