MEETING OF THE UNION. ..' A general meeting of the 'Waterside Workers' Union was held iii X shed last evening, Mr. F. Curtice presiding. Several recommendations from tho executive were dealt with. The resignation of.-Mr. J: Welsh, as vice-president, .was'accepted, with regret. It was decided that tho balance owing on the union band instruments be paid. It was decided to write to the Harbour Board and to.tho Hv.ddart-Parker Company with regard to breaches of-ths agreement alleged to ..liavo been committed by them. A circular-from tho Agricultural and Pastoral Workers' Union asking for financial assistance was received. Tho union decided to vote tho sum of £10 j and in this connection also a notice of ;, motion-'was received proposing that a / levy be struck on the union members.. A.further notice cf motion was receive*'i seeking to amend tho union rules to, cope with the action of some membei :s who had temporarily resigned from tt is union in order to become labour for en en, and who at the termination - of their employment as such had rejoin ed I the ranks of tho iinion.
