FEDERATION OF. INTERESTS. By Telegraph.—(Special Correspondent.) ' ■ Wanganui, May 2. At a meeting of tho Wanganui Patriotic Committee a letter was received from tho 'Wellington. War Relief Association, endorsing the suggestion that there should be- one society for the Wellington Province, with branches in the various centres. Tho suggestion made was that the Wairarapa and the Bush Districts should combine, and have ons socioty, that Wanganui and tho different societies operating in the Manawatu district should combine, and that any societies not included in the Mar.awatu district should combine with, tho Wellington War Relief Associatiou District. , Mr. Hope ■ Gibbous said that the suggestion really emanated from the Advisory Board, and was not correctly stated in the Wellington Association's communication. The idea, ho cxplain- ; ed, was not that there should he a concentration under Wellington, but that I there should bo some more effective organisation and co-ordination among I the societies interested. |. After discussion the matter was refoired to a. committee for report. Attention was given to the Rotorua Convalescent Home. Mr. How Gibbons reported that., tho sum of £300 was ill hand of the .£SOO-required for socials at the home. Contributions had been promised from Hawkc's Bay. £150 ; Pai"ievstoh North, £30; Wellington, £1(10; New Plymouth. £25; and Rangitikoi, £.'>■ The balance of the £500 was voted by the conunittee.
