WANGANIJI'S GASWORKS AND TRAMWAYS. By Telegraph.—(Special Correspondent.! Wartgan.ui, May 2. Wanganui's municipal enterprises arc proving very remunerative; Tho -.gasworks receipts for the year were £37,306, or '£1012 bettor than the preceding; year. The gross profit for the year was no less than £14,467. For the 11 years' period of municipal administration, tho gasworks have made a total profit of £103.780 10s., and of this amount £20,205 has been expended on new plant and £27,900 applied to the relief of rates. Tho production of eas has gone up from twenty-eight million cubic feot. in 1902 to 117 million cubic feet in 1315. _ ■ 'The.'tramway'credit balance on the year just closed stands at £456. During the seven years'of the tramwnvs existence the .cars have carried 13.060.201. passengers, and earned in fares £101,961 12s. lid.'
