TEMPORARY APPOINTMENTS. The General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces has approved of tho following n.0.0.'s and men being promoted to the rank of 2nd lieutenant m tho Expeditionary Force Reinforcements:—9/33 Corpl. A. Orr, posted to 17th infantry Reinforcements; 12/1885 Pte. A. L- Bell, posted to 16th Mounted Rifles; 5/118 a Dvr. P. J. Palmer, posted to 17th Infantry Reinforcements; 6/68 Sergt. P. M'lntyre, posted to 17th Infantry Reinforce•meuts. The following officers have reported at Trentham for duty:—Chaplain-Cap-tain H. Clark, 12th Reinforcements; 2nd Lieut, L. DANGES AT THE'SOLDIERS' CLUB "CYM." Tlin Soldiers' Club in Sydney Street lias every reason to feel gratified with tiie result of its efforts to entertain tlie men of the 12th Reinforcements who were on leave in town on. Saturday evening. The Hutt ladies were in charge of the club festivities, and Wl a very busy evening. The big main hall was devoted to a concert, the fine jfrograrmne for which filled in the whole of a long and enjoyable evening. The call of the dance lur'od a big crowd to the "gym." During the evening the Primo Minister (MrfMasse.v), with a party of gentlemen from the Wairarapa, consisting of Messrs. Hugh Morrison, Whatman, M'Donald, and AYilliams, visited the scone and expressed himself delighted with the. success of the club's efforts to entertain the soldiers. At the oloso of the dance Mrs. Massby made a littlo specch to the men, addressing her remarks especially to the "12ths," whom, on behalf of the ladies of the Soldiers' Club, slie wished Sod speed and a successful enterprise in their appointed nlace in the ranks of the Empire and her Allies.
