The Russian losses were heavy." RUSSIAN BATTLESHIP ATTACKED BY AEROPLANES GERMANS CLAIM EFFECTIVE BOMBARDMENT. (Rec. April 30, 5.5 p.m.) Amsterdam, April 28. A German, nawil communique states: "Three of our aeroplanes dropped tliirty-oue bombs upon th? Russian warship Slava, in the Gulf of Riga. There was several hits, and a conflagration was clearly observed." [The Russian battleship Slava, 13,516 tons, was built in 1905, carries a complement of 740 men, steams 18 knots, and is armed with four 12-inch, twelve 6-inch, .and thirty-four 3-iuch guns, with smaller armament.]
