CHURCH MEETINGS

WADESTOWN ANNUAL MEETING. An enthusiastic and well-attended parishioners' meeting took place at Wadestown on Friday night. Tho various reports which v.ero presented showed that there was vigorous life and growth in the parish. The collections had increased by £32 over those of last year, and taking the £31 increase at Northland into consideration, the total increase amounted to £63. The vicar pointed out that £900 had been raised for various- parochial purposes during the year. The Indies of the guild wero heartily thanked for their services to the church in raising £75 for the vicarage debt. The church decoration scheme had been most successful, and had enabled many necessary improvements to be made in the church —to tho amount of £40. After the election of officers for the ensuing year, the Doxolofjy was sung and refreshments handed round, and tho rest of the evening was spent in music and dancing.

ST: JAMES'S, LOWER HTJTT. The Vicar (Rev. A. L. Hansell) presided at the annual meeting of the parishioners of St. James's Church, Lower Hutt, and in a short address feelingly referred to the loss sustained through the year by the death of Miss Climie, who had been an enthusiastic Sunday School worker. The sale of work in aid of the Leather Waistcoat Fund yielded the handsome sum of £199, and the Vicar congratulated all concerned on its great success. Tho report and balance-sheet were read by the churchwarden, and on tho motion of Mr. F. De J. Clere were adopted. The balance-sheet, which disclosed an increase in both offertories and collections, showed a credit of £46 3s. 9d. The Vicar nominated Mr. J. 0. Anson as his churchwarden, and other officers elected were as follow: —Parishioners churchwarden, Mr. A. F. Tosswill (reelected) ; vestry, ■ Messrs. G. Aldous, 0. Baigent, F. De J. Clere, J. E.
