N.Z.UNIVERSITY
SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP. RESULTS.
A special meeting of the Senate of the New Zealand University was held yesterday. Present: The Chancellor (Sir Robert Stout) presiding, the Vice-Chan-cellor (Professor Macmillan Brown), Professors Hunter, Hight, Seagar, and Chilton, the Hon. Dr. Collins, M.L.C., the Rev. Mr. Cameron, Dr. Anderson, the Rev. Mr. Evans, and Messrs. J. C. Adams and Yon Haast.
The following obtained senior university scholarships:—Tinlinc Scholarship (English), Miss Hanes (Auckland); geology, Mr. Lang (Auckland); chemis-. try, Mr. Hudson (Victoria College); pure mathematics, Mr. R. D. Thompson (Victoria College); English, Miss D. C. Hardcastle (Canterbury); Greek, Mr, R. J. Richards (Canterbury); economics, Mr. Rochford (Canterbury); mental science, Mr. E. W. Anderson (Otago); botany, Miss Betts (Otago); zoology, Miss Farnie (Otago); electricity, . Mr. Hintou (Otago); heat, Mr. Rhinesmith (Otago); French, Miss. Tumbull (Otago); Latin, Mr. M. S, Smith (Otago). Mr. Athol Hudson, of Victoria College, who is the' senior scholar in chemistry, is also the Rhodes Scholar. He cannot take both scholarships, and he -will, of course, take the Rhodes Scholarship. He is at present serving with the Expeditionary Force. The Senate meets again to-day to deal with the degree' examination results, and theso should be available for publication on Monday..
