CAMP NOTES
Lieut. R. C. Bell, N.Z.D.C., has reported at Featherston for duty. The 14th Reinforcements: will go on extended leave ou May 19 to May'2B. Second-Lieut. E. O. Smith, H. 0., 16th, has been granted sick leave. The undermentioned gifts have been received at Featherston Camp and distributed to troops;—BtUis from R. M'Garry, Eketaliuna; buns from Dr. Palmer, Featherston. •
The following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp Commandant at l<eathers.ton: —Corpl. A. TV. Bissett, B Company, 14th, to be sergeant.
The. following men of G Company, 14th, have been promoted to the rank of corporal:—Ptes. R. H. G. Storev, J. M'Dermott, TV, H. Smallfield, TV. V. Ellery, A. E. Brierly, J. S. F. Marshall, J. P. Stevens, and the following privates from G Company, 14th, to.be lance-corporals:—Ptes. A. H. Wenham, C. Smith. Pte. G. H. Campbell, G. Company, 14th, is appointed x Orderly Room clerk. .■'■■-'' ' .
The undermentioned returned soldiers havo reported at Featherston for duty, and havo been attached as/under:— 4/462 Sapper R. H.. Melville,. Div. Signallers, ALB., to Div. Signallers 13th; 2/882 Driver R. Harkness, N.Z.F.A., 2nd, to N.Z.F.A. 12th; 7/497 R.Q.M.S. W.E.. Grant, O.M.R. (M.8.), returned January 1, reported for duty April 20, and is attached to Headquarters Q.M. Stores.
The following temporary appointments have been approved of by the Camp Commandant at Trentham:— '
Headquarters Staff (Staff Officers' Mess).—-Sergt. A. Bloch, to bo Quarter-master-Sergeant (without pay of rank); Pte. R. Barber, to be corporal.
N;Z. Field Engineers, 12th Reinforcements'.—Corpl. C. G. Silvester, to be sergeant; Sapper A. B. Stratford-Hen-niker, to be Jance-corporal. The Commandant at Trentham acknowledges the following donations to the Sports Fund:—Mr. P. Casey, £2 25.; Messrs. Davis and Clater, £2 25.; the British Empire Trading Co., Wellington, 51b. tobacco and 500 cigarettes. 'The Commandant also acknowledges the following gifts to the.hospital from the Soldiers' Comforts Society, per Mrs. Myers:—Three coses of apples, two cases of tomatoes.
