WATER SUPPLY.
Sir,—l notice that the City Council is considering the supplying of a large part of Karovi with water. Surely the council lias forgotten that only a few weeks ago wo wcro begged to economise water as much as possible, as a water famine was imminent, and this when tile drought was by no means abnormal, and yet it is proposed to supply a latgo additional area. Should our higher levels become short, what a deplorable state our sanitary system would at once be in. The inclusion.of lliramar, or any moro of our suburbs, would seera in bo most undesirable from a Wellington point of view, if only because the council and the Engineer and his staif havo quite enougu to attend to already, .-I am, etc., OBSERVER* , JL *v*«l 101 A
