THE BERHAMPORE CLUB.
' The annual report of the Berliampore Football Club states that the club had a successful season. Seeing that the club had occupied such a prominent position in' the third and fourth grade competitions for the past two seasons, it was unanimously decided to_ make a forward move in the competitions and enter. ' teams .in the junior and third competitions, and it is pleasing to see that the club fully justified entry into the higher grade, as they were runners-up to'Petonein the junior championship, only being one point behind them, a position which the club can feel proud ot. After some 'difficulty the third grade team fulfilled their first engagement, but on account of the great response to the Empire's call from members of tjie team the club ivas compelled to withdraw from this competition.. The club is well represented in the defence ot the Empire, as from a membership of 42, 35 nave enlisted for the Expeditionary Forces, and the following comprise tho list:—W. Scott, A. M. Scott, J. Grey, J. Molloy, A. Francis, W. Capper, J. Bowen, C. Grindrod, N. Walters, W. Forsyth, C. Russell, P. Bradley, G. Newton, H. Wbitorod, "J. Martiii, W. Butler, •A. Kennedy. The finances of the club are on a sound footing, as the cash in hand is £19 13s. 9d.
