EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE
ANNUAL MEETING,
Tho annual meeting of the New Zealand Educational Institute (the association of • primary school teachers) was continued, yesterday. ■ ,
For most of the day the meeting was in committee discussing proposed amendments in the constitution, to which reference has already been made. The changes are i'arj-rcaching in their effect, and the possibilities for divergent opinions almost limitless, so that the passage of the amended constitution through committee has not been rapid. The only clauses that even remotely affect educational problems generally are those which make provision for admitting to membership of the Institute members of the teaching staffs of secondary schools and technical schools. The other proposed changes concern only the members of the organisations, and concern them only in their relations with their organisation, the Institute.
