LOVER DESERTER
GIEiL SENT TO GAOL FOE AIDING FIANCE.
For aiding and assisting Private Joliu "iiy, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, a deserter, Mary Edith Maguirc, to whom he was engaged, was sentenced t(* seven days' imprisonment recently.
Detective-Sergeant Curtis said he called twice at Miss Maguire's house, and each time she said Guy was noi there. • Thej third time she said Giiy had just arrived. Guy was wounded, and had been operated on. Ho went to his homo in Preston, and then to Eastbourne.
