Hickling, Auckland city valuer, aa to the work of the recent eitting of the City Assessment Court shows that the total ratable value of Auckland, as assessed by him, £896,881, was reduced by ££'301, leaving the approved ratablo value for the ensuing year at £891,580, au increase of' £3504 as compared with the previous year. Since March 1, £592 lias been added, bringing up the increase in ratable value to £4396. The return ■ points out that the reductions from all causes amount to slightly under 3.5 per l cent, of the total valuesubmitted to the Court.
