RECRUITING
THE PERSONAL CANVASS,
The meeting of .residents of the Kelburn and Northland district to-night will be presided over by tho Hon. A. L. HordInuui.
The district has been placarded with I posters and a representative attendance is' expected. The members of both the Men's and Women's National Eeserve are especially asked to attend, as this is essentially work for which these organisations are suited. Those \yho have canvassed for the elections and know the district and the people can also do yeomen service. There wilV-ue no formal speeches at the meeting, which will be in the nature of ! a large district committee meeting, in which everyone is expected to ,'ako part, rather than a gathering divided into speakers and audience. The chairman will explain ' tho extent ol tho district to be .worked and tho nature of the work to bo done, and outline the arrangements that are proposed for carrying out in the most effective way tho work to tho district. The meeting will be asked to appoint a small business committeo to superintend, the personal canvass, to subdivide the district, and to.allot the subdivisions nniong ' the canvassers. Volunteers for eanvassing will bo called for, and sheets allotted to them. . /
At all the public, schools in Wellington to-night the Town Hall Recruiting Committee will commence their task of carrying out the scheme of the Recruiting Board, in an endeavour to promote further enlistments by the voluntary system.
