Tho monster Soldiers' Sports Carnival which is to be held on the Trentham racecourse, on Good Friday promises to bo a popular and'- picturesque affair. There will be a large number of exciting and humorous events, as well as -the usual athletic items, and the soldiers are in active training for tliom all. Admission for the public wilklie free, and returned soldiers and tlieir friends are spoeially N invited. A feature of the day will be a Queen Carnival, for whioh a great deal of preparation has been made. Refreshments will be provided at ordinary prices, and nmsio is to be provided by tho Trentham Clamp Band.

The City 'Council has granted the Wellington Zoological Society - permission to take up a collection at Newtown Park on Sunday afternoon, when the Waterside Workers' Band will render a programme cf music.
