A successful "jumble sale" was liel<J at St, Augustine's Lads' lloom, Petone, yesterday afternoon, in aid of tho funds of I'etono and. Butt Society for the Health of Women and Children. There v.'as a great variety of goods offeTed, and tho hall was crowded. The prices ranged l'rom Id. to JOs., and the articles offered included boots, chairs, costumes, et-c. ■ The president (.Mrs. R. C. Kirk) was iu charge, and was assisted by Mes« dames G. "Wilson, G. Cook, M'Caffery, Andrews, Todd, Evren, Ilarman, and Burd,. and Misses Todd, Peach, and Andrews. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs. Andrews. The uet profit of the sale was £14,- and the committee decided to hold a similar function shortly, after Easter.
