SHORTAGE OF WATER.
Sir,—Re the City Council's request that householders and others (should conserve tho water supply as much as possible, do you not think it advisable that a thorough inspection of tho Wai-nui-o-mata dams should be mado at oiice, to ascertain if there is a leakage? I have recently been informed by a resident of tlio district that .ho is strongly of opinion that a leakage still exists in one or other of tho dams. In the near future the ■ waters of the Orongorongo will bo tapped, and. tlio extra pressure should be thought of and provided i'or in time.—l am, etc., 1 RATEPAYER: Xpril 11, 1916.
