ARMLETS.
Sir,—Tilt; many_ cases of unjust scorn and criticism against some of our best men -who are willing, but for different reasons, unable to enlist, make it obviously necessary that the general publie should have some means of distinguishing the wasters and shirkers from men, but as many of the latter are showing what seems rather a childish dislike to wearing the armlets lately issued by the Defence Office, could not that objection he sot over bj having one to cover all classes, viz., those whose services lmve been offered, j ■accepted, or conmleted ? Willingness to serve is tho main thing. If the above suggestion is not feasible, then, for their own sake as well as their friends and relations, I wish it was a punishable offence for any man .of military age to appear in public without his am, etc., k SOLDIER'S SISTER Wellington, April 12i
