CROWN PICTURE THEATRE

The Crown Picture Theatre, wliich has boon erected in Moleswortb Street anil has seating accommodation for 850 pooplo, will probably bo opened on Has tor Saturday, mid will no doubt bo much appreciated by lovers of the motion picture who reside at tho Thorndon end of the City. Tho health and comfort of its patrons was kept well in mind -when the theatre was being planned, and no expense was spared in providing the most comfortable of seats, porfoct ventilation, and a line semiiwiircct lighting scheme. Export attention is to bo paid to the. cleansing of the theatre by the installation of electric vacuum cleaners, and tho daily fumigation of tho theatre with perfumed antiseptic sprays. Tho company has secured the sole rights to scroen ' | in Wellington v many pictures controlled by the TraiVsatlantic Film Company, of London, and also tho renowned Broadway features, including the Blue Bird and Red Feather releases. This splendid selection of pictures, avoiding as it doos as far as possible tho ultrasensational, is oxpectod to appeal to all classes of tho community. A largo and well-balanced orchestra has been engaged.. It is tho intention of the company to make a feature of the music by introducing that of tho best composers, and the musical items will from timo to time bo published through the Press. The trams stop almost at tho doors, and as tho theatro is situated closo to tho railway stations, suburban patrons -will, no doubt, appreciate the convenience of being able to witness the entire programmes. Matinees will be given every Saturday at 2.30 p.m., and on - all public and school holidays.

The Molosworth Street front of the theatro has fine shops on tho street level, all of which arc let. The enterprise is expected to meet a long-felt local need, and at the same time, give its promoters a highly satisfactory return.
