Mncdonald, with a view of ascertaining their fitness to hold commissious. Those of tho 11th Reinforcements who were examined were n.c.o.'s wbo had previously passed the examination, but had not been offered commissions. They bad been allowed to wait back for the next Reinforcements, and undergo tho test once more. !It is understood that in addition to qualifying in the routine drill work, an n'.c.o. must show a capacity to deliver orders and handle men effectively before .ho will bo given a commission.
