SUNDAY-SCHOOL UNION

The committee of the Sunday School Union mot last evening in St. John's Church. , Mr. Alexander Johnston, president, was in the chair, and there was a good attendance of delegates. Tho Lansdowne and Kaiwaiwai Presbyterian schools were received as members of the union. The Sydney Street Methodist School (it having amalgainat. cd with the Molesworth Street School)' resigned its membership, which was re-, ceived with regret. It was announced that in addition to tho visitors elected at the annual meeting, Mr. J. Caughley, M.A., and Mr. Richard Urown had consented to act so that tho city and suburban schools should bo well looked alter this year. . Mr. H. T. H. Grave was reported to bo still doing good work as the union's visitor to schools outside Wellington. A communication was received from the Auckland Union in regard to olecting a corresponding member of the committee, which is preparing a new sei'.es of lessons for British Sunday schools. As Now Zealand is asked to elect two members, it was resolved to suggest that arrangements should be mndc for the Sunday sehool unions to elect ono of.those, and to.ask the various church councils to select the other. The programme of the Easter Convention, to be held at Masterton, was put before the meeting, the secretary- announcing that sixty-two delegates or more would attend from the various schools. An application for a long-service diploma for a teacher who had served for twenty-five years continuously was endorsed for tho favourable consideration of the London Union. "Fore-warned, fore-armed."
