GAME SEASON
— A\ r ELLINGTON ACCLIMATISATION DISTRICT. The Government has granted the petition of the Wellington Acclimatisation society tor an open gamo-shooting season, commencing 011 May 1, and ending on July 31, 1916. The imported game which be taken between the dates mentioned consists of liares, cock pheasants, Californian and Australian quail, groy ducks, teal ducks, and swans only may be taken ns native game. Pigeons and pukeko are protected. No licenses to sell game on June 1 and after will issued in the AVellington district. There is no limit placed on tho bag of imported game, but twenty birds per man per day i s the limit for native game. No person will be permittcd to shoot on any reserve or sanctuary. Reports indicate that game is fairly plentiful in various parts of the AVellington Society's district.
