WOOLLEN MILL DISPUTE
PRACTICALLY SETTLED. A crowded rfieetinp; of the Petouft I 'woollen workers was held at De Lissa's E Hall, Petone, last evening, and in view i omf a rumour that a settlement was approaching, a small section of the public i awaited to hear, the result. The proceedings lasted until a. late hour, and ' at the conclusion the president (Mr. A. 1 Anderson) and the secretary (Mr. E. • Kennedy) stated that the further pro!J posals made.b.v the.mill directors wore 1 carefully .considered by the union, and : were finally accepted. There were, liow- ■ ever, somo details to fix up, and this would necessitate another conference with the directors. In reply to a question as to whether work would be resumed, pending the settlement of the details, Mr. Anderson replied in the negative, and concluded oy intimating that a further step towards a settlement had been taken.
