ORGAN RECITAL

/ The City Organist (Mr. Bernard Page) gave an organ recital in the large Town Hall 011 Saturday evening. The programme was opened with ft Sonata in D minor (Faulkes). There followed: (a) Prelude from /'La Demoiselle Flue." (b) "Le Petit Berger." (0) Prelude from • "L'enfant Prodigue" (Debussy). Next came "The Flower Maidens' Valse Song," frotn Act IT, "Parsifal" (Wagner). By request, John Ireland's "Elegiac Romance" was play* ed. There is nil atmosphere of mystic gloom and ecstasy throughout this work, aud tbe composer has added a treasure to our collection of orean music. It was also by request that Mr. Pago played "Pastorale" (On. 19), bv Cesar Frank. "Air and Variations" (upon a theme of- Handol's), by KargElerfc, concluded the evening.
