In his war lectures at the Town Hall on Thursday and Saturday next, Mr. Asll. mead Bartlett, Avar, correspondent, will take his audience through the Gallipolt campaign, commencing with the earlybombardment of the Dardanelles forts un. til the evacuation of the Peninsula. In the first part lie delivers an account of the campaign which added a glorious record to. the career of tho participants, referring to tho storming of Gaba Tepo, failure of Turkish attacks on our troopa, our furious attacks ■ on Achi Baba Mountain, Sedd-ul-Babr and other landings, life at Anzac, our successes and our failures, heroic deeds of the New Zenlanders, the landing at Suvla Bay, heroism of the British, the operations reviewed as a whole, the naval attack, -the first attempt to force the Narrows, the menace of. the .mines, Turkish land batteries, tho narrowness of the Narrows,, the Queen Elizabeth in action, flic loss of the Ocean, Triumph, and Boil vet; the coming of the submarines; the Australians and i,New Zealanders and the British sailors—their, good fellowship; the beaming of the Clyde; our marvellous Boot of transports; our base at Mudros Bay; our final victory, could we have won. In the second part of his lecture, Mr. Bartlett accompanies the profuse exhibition of photographs at the seat of war with verbal pictures not less vivid; and what should not be the least interesting part of his lecture will l)e the review of tho oresent state of the war on.all fronts.
