GITY COUNCIL V. STAFF,
A two-rink match between members of the City Council and the staff was played on the Wellington Club's green yesterday afternoon in perfect weather; TlK&osult was as follows:— _ Council: Bennett, Frost, Veitch, Bush (s.), 36. Staff: Johnson, M'Kenzie, Lauchlan, Duff (s.), 25. Council: Hildreth, Luke, Balhnger,, Thompson (s.), 23. Staff : Peterson, Morton, Brown, M'Coll (s.), 14. ' At the conclusion of the games an adjournment was made to the pavilion, and promises were made to play a return match beforei the bowling season terminated." . '
