THE EARLY SESSION

DAY OF MEETING,

Parliament will meet on Tuesday, May 9. The only tiling that is generally known about the business of the session is that it will be chiefly, if not entirely, "war". business. One of the earliest measures to come down will be a National Service Bill, which will probably be pressed as a matter of urgency. There will also be important additions to the War Regulations Act, further extending the already very wide powers of the Government during the war. No definite statement has yet been made as to the special reason for calling Parliament together earlier than usual; but circumstances which are patent to everybody have arisen making it advisable that the Compulsion Bill be passed without over-much delay.
