For some years past this camp of instruction has [taken place at the same property,'be. jcause of tbo interest taken by Mr. Short ;in the education of onr future-farmers.-. jThe camp of instruction was- in. charge., jcvf. :the Educatiotfißoard's agricultural instructors, Messrs. Giant and Banner, jbut 'Mr. Shorthand his expert assistants freely lent services in the(The- property - specialises in, Romney sheep, Hereford oattle; and Clydesdale horses, and to a. study of iho typical feasts of'cach; kind JbG-time-in camp is-■ given. .In Romney sheep there are forty. stud flocks, each animal "wearing ani identifies tiondisc on its oar..;. Tho. boys are thus _able to get lessons in the breeding-of: pedigree :stocK at- are pos- i sible on.'fow ; other "estates, and instruction of the most' •' practical" "nature ' is fiven among' animals' :of the very ■ best reeding. In' cattle,- the. i: number ; 'of fine animals :to be i seen^is' remarkable.
