Tho man Peter Sullivan, who fell off tlio oxpross near Scadown on Thursday and had his foot crushed, sustaining at the samo time other Injuries, died at tho Timaru Hospital yesterday. A married man, who was being brought up from the Thames by a constable last night, disappeared when tho steamer arrived at tlio wharf. No trace of him could be found until this afternoon, when his body was found in tho harbour. . RETURNED TROOPER DIES FROM SCALDS. Rotorua, April 1. At 11 o'clock last ninht' Trooper AY. D. Anderson, of the Otago Mounted Rifles, fell into a scalding pool at Ohvnemutu, and. died this morning. Ho was 33 years old. and joined the Main Body. Ho was wounded in the)'abdomen in the attack on Sari Bair on August 7, and returned to New Zealand on October 29j and was admitted to the George V Hospital on March 21. WATERSIDE AVORKER KILLED. Auckland, April 1. 'Andrew Jack, a watersi<3e • worker, fell down the batch of the Te Anau on AVednosday, and died in the hospital last nigbt. He was a married man with .two children. FOUND DROWNED OFF ORIENTAL BAY. An elderly man named Charles Howat, about 60 years of age, was found drowned'in tho water at Oriental Bay at 7.30 a.m. yesterday. Tho deceased was known to have been an express driver in AVellington for many yenrs, but further than that few particulars were available yesterday. The body was taken out of the water and convoyed to the morgue. It was'assumed by tho police from tho "appearance of the body that if had only been in the water a few hours. Howat had not been reported missing to the police. HOSPITAL CASES. ■ A boy named Fred. Sehcly, 13} yeara of age, slipped on the hillside at Johnsonville yesterday, and broke his right arm. Ho was admitted to the Hospital late last night. The Hospital authorities reported last nifht that : the condition of the victims of the Nairn Street Reserve tragedy showed little change.
