TO ARRIVE THIS MORNING SAFELY IN TOW By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, April 2. Advice has been received that the tug Dunedin got into touch with the Aurora about '2.30 this morning, and picked her up about 3 o'clock. Good progress is being made in towing her to port. Tho tug is going on under' easy steam, and is expected to reach Otago Heads at G o'clock to-mor-row morning. JUST MISSED.BY THE CARNEGIE. Christchureh, April 1. Captain Ault, the scientists and officers of the American scientific yacht Carnegie, which returned to. Lyttelton this morning, after a four' mouths' cruise round the globe in southern latitudes, were deeply concerned regarding tho news of Shackleton's expedition. Captain Ault stated that the Carnegie passed over the course taken by the Aurora about two days ahead of her, the vessels beiiig separated by a distance of some 300 miles; Had he been fitted with wireless and could have got into communication with her, he would have welcomed the opportunity of towing her to safety. Among the gifts sent away on the tug Dunedin to cheer the men returning on the Aurora from their long privations in Antarctic .regions was a particularly thoughtful and generous one from a gentleman who desires to remain anonymous (says the "Otago Daily Times"). He called it "a good English breakfast," and forwarded a hamper,- containing meal for porridge for, about a dozen men,' 71b. of bacon, three dozen eggs, olb. of butter, three long loaves, tea, coffee, condensed ' milk, marmalade, jam, and pepper and salt. Arrangements have been, made that Lieutenant Stenhouse will bo advised as early as possible that their first good English breakfast is awaiting them on board the tug. .
