An Army medical lieutenant leapt from the Distinguished Strangers' Gallery and dropped twenty-five feet to the floor. He fell 'on his face. Springing up, he made a wild rush for the Treasury table, shouting, "Protect the heads of the soldiers from shrapnel." Members and attendants quickly surrounded and removed him. (Rec. March 30, 8.55 p.m.) London/March 29. The intruder in the House of Commons gave his name 'as Lieutenant Turnbull. He was clad in khaki. Ha suddenly climbed out of the gallery and scrambled along the railing, to the astonishment of a crowded House. Members watched him spellbound, until he suddenly dropped. The Sergeant-at-Arms and his assistants seized him, but he was a powerful fellow, and struggled, amid excitement and the shouting of the Speaker. Later he was. medically examined and j released.
