NAIRN STREET TRAGEDY

CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED MURDER.

Ernest Devoin, the young hairdresser concorncd in the tragedy at Nairn Street Reserve, was on Tuesday placed under arrest at the Wellington Hospital. Yesterday he was' cnarged at the Magistrate's Court, before Sir. D: G. A. Cooper, S.M., with attempting to murder Louisa White, the second victim of the tragedy. Inspector Hendrey stated that Devoin was in tho Hospital in a critical condition, and, as lie could not appear, a remand would be necessary. ' The Magistrate granted a remand t for one week.
