The reef at Wnngapoka, where this discovery has been ma<le, is from'4ft. to sft.. wide, and the percentage of zinc to the' 1 lon, .'as'shown by assay, is' 18, which gives an ore valuo of over £16 per ton. Zinc has been given .an increased value lately owing to its use .In . tiio manufacture of munitions, as has also been the case with lead, which is Quoted at over £35 a ton. The Colowue Company is fortunate'in .having both these metals. In its reefs, in some of which are found in addition an appreciable quantity of gold and silver. .'.'..
