Sir, —"What is all the noise about? Are there not German settlers and sympathisers in numbers in this country, as well .as in Melbourne, '{Sydney, and particularly in Adelaide, - where there are German settlements and M.P.'s? Have not our own agents sent, or brought out, at the public expense, maiiy Germans and their descendants Does not ono of them adorn the Upper House as a specific ornament? To give Adelaide people their due, they have rooted out and banished some of their notables since the war began, and aro introducing measures to prohibit those of foreign extraction, holding any license or leave, professional or otherwise, from the State or public bodies. What will New Zealand do?—I am, etc.,
