THE TUBANTIA'S MESSAGES

The "Telegraaf" says the Tubantia's only wireless messages were one stating that she had been torpedoed, and another asking for assistance. They were received simultaneously. A wireless message, now attributed to a German submarine, was received at Flushing, stating tnat the Tubantia was mined. NORWECIAN STEAMER SUNK. 'ALU THE CREW SAVED. London, March 24. The Norwegian steamer _ Eonig was torpedoed in the Channel without warning. The crew were saved. EFFECT ON NEUTRALS. A QUESTION FOR THE REICHSTAG. Amsterdam, March 24. The "Leipziger Tageblatt," discussing" the submarine warfare question, urges the Reichstag to consider whether trustworthy neutrals will remain so if their merchantmen, are sunk. ferry steamer torpedoed. NO LOSS OF LIFE. (Rec. March 26, 5.5 p.m.) London, March 25, The Brighton Railway Company's steamer Sussex (1353 tons) was torpedoed between Dieppe and Folkestone. There were ,250 passengers aboard, 70 per cent, being women and children, chiefly Belgian refugees going to the South of France. While approaching the French coast thJs torpedo suddenly struck tho vessel amidships and crashed into tlie engine-room, wounding several of the engineers. Wireless calls brought assistance. There _ was no panic; everything worked like clockwork. The passengers wore taken off, and tho Sussex towed to Boulogne. AMERICANS MISSING. ACTION BEING CONSIDERED. " (Rec.
