' Ex-Constable Crowo has been sentenced to throe years' imprisonment forcriminally libelling Police Superintendent Mananmy? The libel was contained in a- pamphlet alleging that Mananmy had investigated the murder of the diamond merchant Bauer, and that Mrs. Manamriy was wearing Bauer's ■missing diamonds; also that Manamny. obtained the proceeds of the'crimes. Sydney, March 24. Constable John Fisher was found guilty of the manslaughter of- Jessie Nealon, and sentenced to seven years penal servitude. V ' [On January -10, in Castlereagh Street, Sydney, Fisher, a probationary constable,' shot dead his sister-in-law, Jessie Nealon. and badly wounded his
wife. The Fishers were staying with Nealon. A statement was made by Fisher after his arrest. He said that he wished to leave Nealon's, but his wife refused.to do ao, in a fit of temper. He lost his temper after some bickering, drew his revolver, and did the shooting. His wife was wounded in the breast'and shoulder.]
CONVERSION' OF TREASURY BONDS.

The Government has completed arrangements for the conversion of £822,000 worth of 3J- per cent. Treasury bonds, which are maturing on April 1, at an average rate of £4 lis. 3d. per cent, interest.
FLOUR AND BREAD PRICES.

Melbourne, March 24., The State Government has reduced the price of flour to ££11 7s. per ton, and bread to 3£d. the 2-pound loaf.
