BOARD MEETING,
At the monthly meeting of tbe-Wel-wigton Hospital and Charitable Aid Hoard yesterday, the chairmau (Mr. H. ■lialdwm) presided, and there were also present: Dr. Platts-Mills, Mcsdames D. MLaren, j\ JI. Wilford, Rev. H. Van Messrs. F. Castle, D. CampJ^eemall » W. Galloway, J. W. M l-wan, P. T. Moore, C. M. Luke, G. G. A. Monk, G. J. Petherick, J. ouuth, and W. J. Thompson. ihe chairman reported that an additlonal grant had been received from the Macartby Trustees for the 'Children s Convalescent Home, making the total amount £7000. In connection with work to be done at the home, t'ne committee administering that department _ recommended: "That the offer contained in Mr. Maurice Upton's letter of March 11, addressed to Mr. Ucre, architect, be accepted ill conjunction with his tender received 011 October 1 last (£1945). for the proposed alterations and additions to the T. G. Macartliy Home for Convalescent Children. The recommendation waa agreed to.
On the recommendation of the Hospital Committee, it was decided that the fnTioift 1? Jackson and Co. (£97 Osi Uci.), being the lowest, be accepted tor painting, additions to Scddon fchelters, bedrooms Nurses' Home and verandah Ward III; and that the maids dining-room bo renovated— painted, new linoleum, and supplied with a dozen new chairs—total cost £29 ..Os, 1
Dr. Basil Adams, the tuberculosis medical" officer, forwarded his periodical report of' tlto patients that had open under his care up till the time of his departure for military duty.'" Tho report was adopted. llie Finance. Committee recommended, and.it was agreed, that articles belonging to deceased persons unclaimed for a period of six months be sold by auction, and the amounts obtained, together with any unclaimed moneys, be credited to their respective accounts for maintenance.
It was decided that the House StewLard obtain quotations which are to be recorded on slips for that purpose in place of his "quotations book," and that these slips furnishing details in regard to goods and the quotation accepted be forwarded to the head-office the following morning. The following tenders for 1916-17 were accepted for the Wellington Hospital: Meat, Messrs. Barber and Co., Ltd.; fish, New Zealand Trawling and Fish -Supply Co.; boots, Messrs. R. Hannah and Co., Ltd.; spectacles and .glasses, A E. M. Rowland: coal (household), Wesfcport Coal Co., Ltd., (boilers), Geo. H. Scales, Ltd.; funerals, R. M. Wilson and Son. The following tenders for supply to Otaki Hospital and Sanatorium were accepted: —Meat, G. W. Fairley; bread, Askin Bros, and J. Robinson; groceries! H. F. E. Oockrell and Bills and Moore.
