RETURNED SOLDIERS

ENTERTAINED AT CARTERTON.

By Telegraph.—(Special Correspondent.) . , t Masterton, March 23. At the invitation ■of the Wairarapa Automobile Association about forty returned soldiers were entertained at a garden party at Mr. W: Howard Booth's Carrington House at Carterton to-day. The Featherston Military Band rendered selections, and a most enjoyable and profitable reunion took place. Tho Hon. W. Fraser, on behalf of the settlers, presented Archibald M'Neilage, who lost a leg while undergoing an operation to enable him to enlist for service, with a purse containing three hundred sovereigns.
