IMPROVEMENT NOW EFFECTED,

London, March 22. Mr. Austen Chamberlain (Secretary for India), speaking in the House of Commons, referring to the inadequacy ,of the hospital arrangements in Mesopotamia, said he was afraid that there had been a lamentable breakdown. There had always been abundant supplies at Basra, but there was an inexcusable shortage above that point. An inquiry was instituted, and an improvement had been already luado.
