• Sir,—Winter is looming tip in tlio near future. What about food prices? AY.hat lias -our Government dono to help tliose too poor to help themselves ? Has our Prime Minister made the necessary provision of securing "life necessaries"' grown here, such as wheat, butter, moat, etc., while the opportunity offers? Unfortunately thousands hero are becoming wealthy, through the war, whilst thousands ore becoming poorer, and in the circumstances it is manifestly the'clear duty of tho Government to render all possible assistance and prevent a- further increase in food prices.
