Y.M.C.A. OLD BOYS' CLUB

Tho opening night for the year of the Y.M.O.A. Old Boys' Club was held on Tuesday evening in the rooms, Willis Street. Ma-. Win'. Allen, president of. the association, was in the chair. About seventy sat down to a banquet and spent a most enjoyable ovening. During the evening tdio following, toasts were honoured:—"The King" ; "The Association," proposed by Mr. Beswick, replied "to by Mr. Allan; "The Old Boys'<Cluh," proposed by Mr. Eghn, replied to by Mr. H. W. Kersley; "Oid Boys at the front," proposed by Mr. T. Plant, replied to by Mr. J. Cassie: "Boys' Department," proposed by Mr. H. W. Johnson, replied! to by Mr. Laurenson.

Musical and elocutionary items tvera rendered by Messrs. Beswick, Galloway, G. Peak, and Master S. Airth. Mention was made during the evening that over 200 ox-members, of the Boys Department were on active service. The objeot of iflie club is to develop all young men between the ages ot 18 and 21, and all young men, especially those- away from homo, are heartily invited to come along and join up with tho club. Some of the activities are. Bible classes, debating clubs, educational talks, indoor and outdoor athletics and games. ________
