COMMISSION OF INQUIRY

In the Legislative Council Sir Ebranin Kahimtoolah moved for the appointment of a committee to consider the development of Indian industries. •Ho urged the desirability of fiscal independence, with a policy of protection. oir W. Clark announced that the Government was appointing a Commission, which would include leading Indian industrial representatives, with the object of examining, the possibilities of the btatc, and of the improvement of the industries. The Commission would start work at Simla almost immediately. Its inquiries would exclude protectionist policy and constitutional issues.
