NEW STAFF APPOINTMENTS.

By Telegraph-I'vcFc Association. ' Tlmaru, March 21. The matron and three sisters having resigned from the hospital during tho month, their places were filled to-day, Miss I'ascoo, from Auckland, being appointed matron.

Owing to the dispute over the lato matron, the honorary medical staff.resigned, and. after*.the lapse of a few weeks were reappointed. In the interval surgeons -were called in to assist the house surgeon in two abdominal operations, and charged 2-5 guineas each. Some members of the board objected to pay, aiul in the meantime .the accouuts am held ovor.

The doctors have pointed out that those aro instances of what is being saved by the honorary staff.
