RECRUITING AND SOLDIERS' FARMS.
Sir,—At the present time there 16 a serious shortage of recruite. A great number who aro willing to serve, and have soon military training, are compelled to stay on account of their farms. Now,' my suggestion is that tlio Government should buy these farms at.a reasonable valuation, payment to bo made by Consols at 4$ per cent., over a period of twenty years. Those farms could be leased to returned soldiers at the above interest, and I am-certain they would return more than the gum lands of the north. Trusting some of our politicians will do something further with tho matter.—l am, etc.,
